Mikko is one of the few veterans in the Formula P class as he started competitive karting in it when the class was introduced in 2000. He has however ample previous karting experience as Mikko had started karting while back in Finland, in the junior classes. 

At the track & races, Mikko is always accompanied by his dad who is his mechanic cum team manager. In fact, both Mikko's parents are very supportive of his karting activities as I had the pleasure of meeting his mum when his dad was abroad during a club race.

Naturally being a Finnish, Mikko supports Mika Hakkinen. Like Mika, Mikko is rated as a "gentlemen's" driver by some of his fellow competitors as he seldom holds anyone who is clearly faster than him.  

For the future, Mikko might join the 125 class. "I am already slightly overweight in the Formula P class, so it's better in a heavier class like the 125".
