Name : Ross Jamison Age : 13 Date of Birth : 30th Sept 1990 Class Racing in : Formula Junior Kart No : 28 Website : Hong Kong Resident Ross Jamison, is 13 years old and lives in the Sai Kung district of Hong Kong where he lives with his parents (Dad is a Cathay Pacific Airways Captain) and younger sister Emma. He is a student at the King George V School in Kowloon and a member of the Hong Kong Kart Club. Ross has been interested in motorsport for as long as he can remember and always enjoyed early forays in hire karts while on holiday. He started karting seriously in Aug 2001 at Peter Thompson’s (of Meritus Racing fame) Hong Kong Karting Mall in their Kids Racing Programme, and in 2002 won their Open Grand Prix Series, racing against some very experienced drivers. After one race in China, 2003 has seen Ross move his racing activities to Malaysia, joining Wai Leong’s team of junior drivers at City Karting. It has been a good season (if rather limited with only eight race weekends), with Ross finishing on the podium five times, and notching up his first Junior win in this, his first season in the category. He came second overall in the Dunlop AMC Formula Junior Championship. When not spending time with his family or friends, Ross’ other interests include rugby (he plays at wing forward for his school), and horse riding. Ross aspires to graduate from karts to open wheel racing cars, and hopes he will have a long career ahead of him in Formula 1, where he would like to emulate the success of his hero Mika Hakkinen. |
