Karting School

Introduced in 2004, City Karting now offers a special karting school to our customers & public alike, with the possibility of driving a fully prepared  race kart - while being coached personally by our national kart champion ; Ng Wai Leong. The school is designed to cater for the driving skills of all drivers but for safety reasons, the candidates must be able to adequately handle safely the Cadet engined fun karts at our Shah Alam track prior to this course admission.

Usage of Full Spec Race Karts!

The course offers full use of our race karts which typically starts with our Formula Yamaha karts, then the Formula Rotax Junior and finally ending with runs in the Fomula Rotax Senior kart. As some of the karts can touch a top speed in excess of 100kph in less than 5 seconds and are not power-restricted, City Karting's curriculum is designed to start the participants with driving a slower kart and progressively introducing a faster kart to them, as according to their capabilities - all done with supervised safety as our main priority.

Personalised Briefing and Coaching!

To ensure adequate personal tuition is given to each driver during the course, we limit the number of participants to about 6 drivers each session. Adequate access track time for each driver is allocated and briefing sessions are held at the end of each run for the drivers personally.

This personal attention will ensure that the driver understand his own driving style and possible errors with improvements identified immediately to him.

Data Logging - just like the real thing in F1!

To aid the teaching, a data-logging system is installed on our karts to record the driving performance of each driving stint. The data is downloaded into a laptop for a personal explanation on where improvements can be made for faster and more consistent laptimes...

The data can also be kept by the drivers for future reference and benchmark for later training sessions. This will ensure that your kart driving skills is improving with such specialised sessions over time.

 

The school however IS NOT a racing school at this point in time but serves mainly to give to the more advanced fun karters a taste of what a full spec race karts are like to drive. This is the BEST way to get a feeling of a full race kart, without having to own a kart personally - all done with a resonable fee and in a controlled, safe & fully supervised environment..

We are proud to announce that City Karting is the FIRST in Malaysia and possibly the region to offer such a kart school.
