The events run under this series are organised in
conjuction with the local karting club; Kelab Kart Selangor &
Wilayah Persekutuan ( KKS ) and City Karting Promotion, one of Malaysia’s
premier kart business organisation. Held under the international
standard regulations of CIK & AAM, every participant is assured on
its superior standard of safety and quality organisation.
"Judging from the first club race in February
where we had 68 drivers, an estimate of over 100 drivers is expected in
every round of the series’ said Ann Siew, the Marketing Executive of
City Karting.
No doubt, a large contingent of the drivers will come
from Malaysia but drivers from Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Hong Kong,
Macau, Taiwan, Thailand and Australia who regularly competes here are
participating – another boost to our karting standard and indirectly
our local tourism industry!
Continuing from their keen support toward the sport
of motorsports, Ford Malaysia has again pledged their sponsor onto the
series – another proof of Ford’s commitments to Malaysia’s
grassroot motorsport events and the development of our youth in karting.
The Ministry of Youth and Sport’s further
involvement as the Co-title sponsors, three years in succession shows
the government’s long term vision in creating a formidable pool of
world class racing drivers. The sport has grown tremendously in the last
few years especially in the youngster’s age group like the Cadet
class, an achievement the Ministry and the Government can be proud off.
Media coverage is also maximised in the series, as
the races will covered by the renowned local television station, the TV3
Station. The TV coverage including other media representation will also
ensure that all our participants, drivers and sponsors will be exposed
to the public as much as possible.
