New Panoramic view of the our track - Status 15th August 2004

After the extensive upgrade of the track and its facilities, a new panoramic picture of the track will do justice to it, for the benefit of our web visitors!

For those who followed the progress of the recent track upgrade, you will immediately recognise the new turfing around and in the middle of the track. In addition, we have also now established brand new structures which shall be the paddock/VIP viewing gallery and also the all important toilet! The entrance of the circuit will now feature a proper entrance, with a sliding gate. Likewise, the entrance to the track for the service vehicles are also properly gated for added security.

As also mentioned earlier, the track is now even more technical to drive - with the addition of high kerbs and turfed areas. For those who recall taking shortcuts in the older circuit layout - this will now only be an expensive and painful off track experience! We do not recommend it!

The Shah Alam Stadium Circuit popularity amongst the local motorsports enthusiast is most evident to both drivers and spectators.....see the pictures for the proof! We get easily hundreds of spectators lining the road each weekend, tasting the sound of racing kart engines and confirming this sport to be a healthy, family oriented and enjoyable one - even to the spectators!

Our honourable local council, the MBSA ( Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam ) with its involvement in the recent upgrade, will be most proud to see that Shah Alam is surely becoming a very popular & liveable precinct in the Klang Valley!

More Track Facilities IMPROVED!! - Status July 2004

Since early this year, City Karting has embarked on a program of upgrading and improving the track and its public facilities. The continuous improvement started with the turfing of the track and slight track layout modification. The result of the track modification have been outstanding, making the track more technical & challenging to drive on - not doubt also less forgiving if you make a mistake!

In the 2nd phase of the track upgrade program, we are also building permanent structures to replace the earlier semi-permanent paddock structure. The highlight of the addition will be the combined race control/VIP located one the 2nd storey of our new paddock building.

View from the track - now everyone can see where you spun!

On the ground floor of this building, we will have a small workshop and storage area, which will be used to store our fun karts. A covered area immediately behind the workshop, will be useful for race days - for race scrutinising, weighing in and officials area.

Just a short distance away, a permanent male/female toilet is built for the comfort of all our drivers, guest and supporters.

In view of the present work status, we anticipate the facilities to be fully functional by end of July. ( subject to council release of the facility )

Track Upgrading Details - UPDATED 1st QUARTER 2004!

The track as known by most was closed for significant upgrades which mainly involved the turfing of the center section of the track and also some outside sections. This is done to enhance the technical feature of the track, making it a more permanent & proper kart track now - with no possibilities of a shortcut...

In addition to the turfing, the layout of the track was changed slightly - to again make it a more challenging circuit to drive on The biggest change centers around the 2 hairpins at the far end of the circuit. Before the upgrade, the hairpins are close to each other and driven as one section. Now, a short straight connects the tow, which effectively also lengthens the track.

Some other areas of change involves Turn 1, the rear Sweeper, the introduction of the race pit and the modification of some kerbs.

Outside the track, we are also constructing a paddock building and also proper toilets! - a long overdue basic amenities. All this will enhance your driving experience with us and make our circuit, one of the best in the region for track technicality, location and now facilities!

A Panoramic View of our Circuit....Valid till Dec 2003 ( see new track above )

Get to see a panorama view of our circuit as shown below. The futuristic - flying saucer/clam shaped building on the right background is the Shah Alam Stadium, venue of many football matches and even concerts.

Our track is CIK graded and approved for international karting events, with plenty of track run off areas and crash barriers at critical areas. This shot was taken from atop the hill, overlooking the circuit which forms a natural amphitheatre for spectators and supporters alike!

At City Karting Enterprise, we are fortunate to have our own track to run, thanks to the Majilis Perbandaran Shah Alam authorities ( MPSA ) & also Alam Arena Management Sdn Bhd. We would also like to thank the Kementerian Belia & Sukan ( KBS ) and Jabatan Kerja Raya ( JKR ) for their last effort to re-surface the track, thus enabling us to revise the track layout - much to the appreciation of the karters.
