A race of too many!!
Greetings my Fellow Karters! My sincere apologies for the less than frequent updates on Webmaster Ramblings of late....but at least the main pages are kept updated and that's more important for my Principal.
In any case, six months of 2005 has passed and more than half of the year's national kart racing season is also done. Or has it?
For the hawked eye readers, you will note that I really struggled to update the 2005 Racing Calendar. After a period of waiting for the organisers to finalise their racing dates, my first posting was in March 10th.....and even this was done with great difficulty.
Why? The racing calendars came from a few organisers and it seemed like none of them sat down together to prioritise whose event should go ahead. No doubt some of the events were international and club level but with so few drivers nationally - would you not think they would not make it easier for drivers to participate both? No sir! The fact was, on some weekends - I had to post TWO Race meets of TWO different championships.....with the same classes, mind you!.
In any case, I am not to dispute the forces higher than me.....so post I did! And I offer no apologies for the apparent mistakes the calendar had.
My 2nd version of the race calendar was posted 27th May 2005 - as seen now on the main index page. It is NOT perfect and yet still had a couple of race weekends that clashed....but again they were given by the organisers.
I pity drivers who wants to race and started the season with a number of suitable championships...only to discover that the races clashed when the calendar "evolved" over the year....I think for drivers with sponsors, this will be a nightmare especially since you are likely expected to wear your sponsor's colour for a number of races per year.
In any case - as mentioned earlier, I post what info I get so my comments above are based on that. If the clubs or controlling bodies have a more accurate calendar, please correct me by forwarding the correct race calendar to me - via my principal.
If there's none and indeed the confusion still exist - then I can only say......GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER & dun confuse the poor racers! We certainly dun need another US F1 event here on our shores - in terms of race number participation for kart racing!
Cheers!
